One Tribe sound is The Gambia`s international sound and was founded in February 1997 in Brooklyn (New York) by Pieces.The name of the sound was created because The Gambia, the smiling coast of West Africa and one of the dancehall capital of The Mama Land (Africa) is a country with different tribes.And to discourage tribalism through music the name (ONE TRIBE SOUND "the final solution ) came into existence.
At the very beginning Pieces was the only mc & selector.He was later joined by Jigster who was also Mc ,sel and also technician. Since then the sound has spread it`s name to England and Germany where we have representatives.

Omsy B. of Birmingham and King Ralph (Big Ralph ) MC ,Sel and also founder of the then Kunta Kinteh Heritage Sound of Bremen.The sound play´s from foundation to brand new dancehall  vibes and also dubplates (Dennis Brown, Luciano, Capleton etc. ).Over the years the sound has played alongside sounds in the U.S, Germany, England and in The Gambia.

The sound also host a radio show (by Pieces ) in one of Gambia``s top radio "City Limits" on 93.6 Digital FM every Saturday from 22.00 - 0.00.The show is called Dancehall showdown.
