Reggae pirate station in plea
Organisers of the Birmingham pirate reggae music station
Radio Star are planning to lobby the city's M.P.s in a bid to become legalised.
The Handsworth based station, which aims to run a voluntary service for city's West Indian communities, has had an application for a licence turned down by the Independent Broadcasting Authority. Disc jockey and reggae promoter Mr. Cecil Morris, who set up the station early last year, was fined £100 for illegal broadcasting by Birmingham magistrates in September. (home: pcrlfm.co.uk) |
