Carl Josephs (CJ)

Background:
Born under the Libra sign, Carl hates marmalade jam & loves women and good food. He sites Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a big influence. He is a qualified guitarist and is interesteded in football, cricket, basket-ball and track sports. CJ was born at the East Birmingham Hospital and started with PCRL in 1991 and was with us until 2000.

Carl was always a very popular presenter on PCRL, over his nine years at the station he presented 'Talk Back' for a while in the early 90's, he took gospel music to new heights in the mid 90's and then finally turned to presenting dance music.

Cecil (the station founder) recalls that he was a little sad that CJ stopped doing interactive programming because he had a natural talent for communicating with the listeners.
The West Midlands police also loved to 'Stop & Search' C.J.  for 11 years he's been singled out by them to be harassed for no other reason that he's 'black' and they know he'll come quitely.

It finally came to a head when he took the chief of police to court over unfair  harasment. In all the times he's been stopped, not once was there a good reason given. We have many press cuttings to show his case.
CJ started The Clubbers Link, a phone-in line to give details of club events in your area. It's also now on the Web.
